About us...

the power of ideas...

In the 1700s David Hume published a book in which he taught a concept about God called “Deism”. This was the belief that God was like a watchmaker who had created the earth but had left it to just tick along. His teachings influenced Thomas Jefferson who was instrumental in composing the American Constitution. Two weeks ago in a local newspaper a letter to the editor drew upon deism to make a point that God was no help to anyone today (we are left to fend for ourselves).

In the 1800s Charles Darwin was influenced by David Hume’s deism and published a book which taught that life originated by natural means that this life was continually subject to a process of development which he called evolution. This idea greatly influenced Friedrich Nieztsche (1844-1900) who developed this concept by creating the “super-race” idea.

In the 1900s a young Austrian man, Adolf Hitler, developed Nietzsche’s philosophy by militantly embarking on eradicating the weak links in the human race so that the super-race (Arians) would prevail. The result was death for millions.

In the 2003 President G.W. Bush launched a military campaign against Iraq largely based on the teachings of John Nelson Darby who published his ideas in the early 1800s in which he foretold the last days rise of “Babylon’.

Ideas carry incredible weight.

Ideas are being sown continually. Some ideas are really good. Some ideas are really bad but not immediately recognised as such. Some ideas result in the death of multitudes. Some ideas deprive people of their welfare and harm the innocent.

But how do we know which ideas are good and beneficial? The only trustworthy means to make this distinction is with God’s Word. But there is a problem…

  • According to Barna Research increasing numbers of Christians no longer consider the Bible reliable

  • Some of the most basic claims of the Bible are now rejected by a growing number of Christians

  • These alarming trends among Christians are both sourced from and fuelling attacks made by secularists upon the Christian worldview

  • In Australia there is very little being done to take a reasonable defence of God's Word into the homes and lives of Australians

Finding Truth Matters is a teaching and apologetic ministry which seeks to present the principles of God's Word with integrity and well reasoned research. As an Australian ministry it is one of the very few ministries in this arena.

We are looking for Australian radio stations to partner with us in the following way-

  • We will deliver a professionally produced 45 minute weekly radio program at absolutely no cost to the radio station

  • Our programs have been running on Australian radio since 2001 with great feedback.

  • We request that radio stations commit to a period of of at least 6 months to trial our program and give us a regular time slot each week

  • Click here to request a portfolio of the ministry with introductory audio cds of programs on offer.
